Our Commitment

The Mission of the Jupiter Island Public Safety Department is to provide the highest level of professional Law Enforcement, Fire & Emergency Medical Services for the unique community of Jupiter Island.

About the Department

The Public Safety Department operates from the Public Safety Building at 103 Bunker Hill Road (old Town Hall) and provides Police, Fire Rescue and EMS services within the Town’s municipal boundaries. All sworn officers are required to be certified in all three fields.

Police activities include ensuring the safety and protection of Town residents and visitors while they are on the Island, responding to calls for service or assistance, and enforcing traffic safety laws and regulations.

 

Fire and rescue activities include fire suppression, investigation and prevention along with response to hazardous materials incidents.

 

Our emergency medical treatment includes treating all medical issues from basic life support to Trauma, and Advanced Life Support services. Our Advanced Life Support is performed with the onsite assistance of Martin County Fire Rescue Advanced Life Support Paramedics. These services are available to our residents and visitors around the clock seven days per week.

The signature of our commitment to organizational excellence is demonstrated by our achievement of what is commonly referred to as the “gold standard of law enforcement excellence” – law enforcement accreditation.  Law Enforcement Accreditation recognizes professional excellence and is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a law enforcement agency. The Jupiter Island Public Safety Department is proud to be State Accredited through the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. (CFA)

  • Captain Steven M. Graff is tasked to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Public Safety Department. Captain Graff is a veteran police officer and administrator with nearly thirty years of law enforcement experience.
  • Captain Graff holds two college degrees, and is a graduate of the 67th Command Officer Development Course, Southern Police Institute.
